Whittlesea Community Connections (WCC) is a place-based community organisation established in 1973 by local residents concerned with the lack of services available in the City of Whittlesea. While we have grown and diversified since then, we have maintained our focus on meeting the needs of those most disadvantaged in our community and building on our community’s strengths and aspirations. WCC provides a wide range of free services including settlement support for new arrival migrants and refugees, legal assistance including family law and family violence, food relief and help for people experiencing financial hardship, opportunities for people to engage and participate in community through volunteering, training and employment and youth development programs including leadership and support to re-engage in education. WCC works to help local people to address barriers they face and support them to become active, empowered and connected.
