Designed to create a dynamic and enticing new environment, the refurbished precinct will provide greater access to quality produce, cater to the diverse needs of our growing community, and better reflect the way you like to uncover new tastes and connect through food.

Once completed, it will be an even better version of customers’ favourite place to buy their food — from family essentials through to speciality produce from around the world. More than 20 stores will soon call H&G home, including the return of some of your favourite H&G foodies and a selection of brand-new stores to discover. 

Q: What does the upgrade entail?

The precinct will be significantly upgraded to better reflect the way shoppers like to uncover new tastes and connect through food.

Key elements of the redevelopment include:

• Temporary closure of the existing H&G precinct from early November 2023 for a full refurbishment 
• Temporary closure of Woolworths on 6 October 2023 to enable its refurbishment
• Extension of the existing H&G precinct to the south to facilitate the new Woolworths, new grocery stores and a new full glass entry 
•  Resurfacing and landscaping of the existing H&G precinct car park
• Refurbishment of all ceilings, walls, floors, landscaping, signage, seating and finishes throughout the H&G precinct.

Q. What is the timing for these works?

Work on this exciting development will commence in early November 2023 and is expected to take approximately 12 months.

Q. Will Pacific Epping remain open during the works?

Pacific Epping will remain open and trading throughout construction, however the refurbishment requires the temporary closure of the existing H&G precinct to allow us to undertake these works.

Q. What are some of the features of the new H&G precinct?

This redevelopment will see some much-loved existing H&G vendors enhance their retail offer, while also providing customers with access to exciting new retailers and products.

Beloved independent retailer Sacca’s Fine Foods will expand to incorporate a café serving the delicacies of the day. Woolworths will also undertake a large-scale modernisation to reflect its latest corporate concept and make both in-store and direct-to-boot purchasing even easier.

Coles and Aldi supermarkets will continue to operate throughout the redevelopment, to ensure local residents can continue to fulfil their everyday grocery needs.

Q. Will there be changes to access and parking?

Some temporary changes to access and parking may be necessary to accommodate these works, however there will be ample signage to redirect customers to the nearest entrances.
