What is Ramadan?
Ramadan is a month-long celebration that takes place during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. During this time, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset to develop self-discipline and empathy for those who are less fortunate. It's also a time for spiritual reflection, increased prayer, and studying the Quran. At sunset, Muslims break their fast with a communal meal known as “Iftar”, and the sense of community that comes from sharing this meal is truly heartwarming.
What is Eid al-Fitr?
Eid al-Fitr is a joyful celebration that marks the end of Ramadan and lasts for three days. It's also known as the "Festival of Breaking the Fast," and it's a time for family, friends—and of course, lots of delicious food! The day begins with a special prayer known as the Eid prayer, followed by lots of socialising and exchanging of gifts and sweets. It's also an opportunity to give to the less fortunate and share the love and happiness of this special occasion with everyone.
